Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe In-Person
Mayan Archaeoastronomy: Observers of the Universe is a full-dome, animated movie that explores the Maya understanding of the cosmos through their knowledge of astronomy. This film explores Maya connections between the movement of the sun, the moon, and Venus and the orientation of the built environment at six Maya sites.
Sponsored by Grant Allocation Committee, Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium, Muriel A. Howard Honors Program, Departments of Anthropology and Earth Sciences, Indigenous Studies Minor, Anthropology Society, Lambda Alpha Anthropology Honor Society, and Native American Students Organization.
