Learn Basic American Sign Language In-Person
During this workshop, participants will learn the basic manual Alphabet in American Sign Language and they will learn a few conversational signs (including how to introduce him/herself to a Deaf person). In addition, participants will learn about some norms of the Deaf culture and also how it differs from the hearing culture. The workshop presenter is an oral Deaf person (American Sign Language Program Coordinator/Lecturer at Buffalo State) who is open to any questions from workshop attendees to help them learn more about Deaf people and American Sign Language as a whole. Please come join us to learn the basics of a new language using your hands! Thank you!
