Planetarium Visit for Butler Library Academic Commons

Planetarium Visit for Butler Library Academic Commons In-Person

Join your Butler Library Academic Commons colleagues for a visit to the new Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium. Kevin Williams, Planetarium Director, will provide an overview of what this new facility can do, including a tour of the stars, a journey across the universe, and a demo of the laser music experience (fog machine and all). The overview will go for one hour including time for Q&A. Stick around afterward and grab a beverage with your colleagues at the café next to the planetarium.

The planetarium’s state-of-the-art projection systems and 360-degree immersive environment afford opportunities for collaborations with faculty, staff, and students from across campus, and beyond the planetarium's traditional use for astronomy education. So bring your ideas!

There’s a capacity limit of 48 visitors under the planetarium’s 35-foot diameter dome. There are now about 65 people in Butler, so be sure to reserve your spot.
