Women and mathematics In-Person
It has been 100 years since women were granted the right to vote in the United States. Since then gains have been made in women’s rights, yet there is still disparity in the area of mathematics. Most people cannot name five women who are influential in mathematics. This session will explore the data about women and mathematics, the stories of some female mathematicians, and the challenges faced by women in mathematics and what we can do about it.
